Affordable Camping Gear List
by James Ellis
We have such a vast range of products that it’s often difficult to find one that is both excellent quality and affordable, below we’ve listed some examples of our products which meet both criteria. Now you can go camping safely with the knowledge that your equipment is secure and reliable, whilst simultaneously being cost effective.
Firstly, a tent is essential when camping and we’ve found not only an affordable tent, but a durable one too. The Coleman Darwin 4 Plus is ideal for those looking for a bit of extra space when camping. A porch area large enough to sit in if the weather turns sour, or simply to store spare kit in. Not only is the Darwin 4 spacious, but it’s also protected by Coleman’s UVGuard™ technology. Not only is this tent well protected, it also has great ventilation, a rising groundsheet, window covers and a ring and pin style pitching – all of this for only £106.
Secondly, you’re going to need a sleeping bag. Something comfortable, reliable and affordable, is it possible? Of course it is! With the Vango Kanto 250 you get all of this for just £32.99. Made with superior fibre fill, which is designed to be durable, warm and lightweight whilst retaining its softness. Alongside being made of great material and fill, the bag also includes: Hanging loops for easy drying, integrated headrest for extra comfort, a two-way zip for increased ventilation and a compression stuffsack for easy transportation.
For those wanting an ultralight and cost-effective backpacking experience, we recommend the Easy Camp Airgo 30. Winner of Camping Magazine’s best rucksack 2018, this rucksack weighs just 1.16kg and still includes padded shoulders, compression straps and pole carrying points. Versatile, light and durable, simply the best lightweight rucksack for hiking and camping. All of this for just £49.99.
Now you might be wanting something to sleep on. A roll or sleeping mat isn’t a necessity when camping or hiking, though it is often preferred for comfort reasons. For this reason, we’ve found arguably the best sleeping mat for when you want to save money and sleep comfortably. Costing only £5.99 the Easy Camp Basic EVA Mat is light and supplies an extra degree of comfort for your night’s sleep. Secured simply with elasticated bands for travel and storage.
What about if you’re whilst you’re out and about you get a little peckish? You’ll be needing both a stove and cook-set. With regards to an affordable camping stove we recommend the Robens Lumberjack Wood Stove. This small and stylish stove burns wood and branches, meaning there’s no need to carry extra fuel cans or bottles, alongside this the Lumberjack has a double wall construction for effective combustion. Inclusive of a carry-bag. All for £24.99
Now you’ve got something to cook on you’ll need a cook-set to cook with. We highly recommend the Vango Non-stick Cook-Set. Not only is this cook-set easy to clean due to its no-stick functionality, it’s also extremely easy to store thanks to its folding handles. Inclusive of 2 pots, a frying pan and a plastic cup. - £15.99
We’d like to add in here that you may need some utensils (£2.99) and some cutlery (£1.99) to eat with.
