We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order.

Payment Methods
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa and MasterCard. On the order you must provide us with your delivery address. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing and subsequently delivering your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit/debit card has been properly received.

If we or our
suppliers are temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of this position and will notify you of the revised timescales for dispatch. Although we hope you will not feel it necessary, you always have the right to cancel if you cannot wait for delivery.

Once we have delivered the goods to your door you are responsible for them. We will only deliver goods to the address on the sales order and goods will not be left without a signature. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk. Any transit damage to the goods, shortages or incorrect goods supplied must be noted on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery.

Product Warranty
All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the Manufacturer’s Guarantee for a period of 12 months unless other extended warranties have been agreed. This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. In addition, routine maintenance is not covered. All faulty products, including tents and awnings, still within the manufacturer’s warranty period will be either repaired or replaced, subject to examination. This examination may involve the product being returned to the manufacturer for testing. Please note that as manufacturer’s warranty does not cover accidental or storm/weather damage, we strongly recommend that you take out a suitable insurance policy to cover these potential occurrences.

Information Specific to Tents and Awnings
In order to bring you the best choice available, we make significant investments in sourcing, pre-ordering and displaying tents and awnings for your viewing. We also provide all relevant technical and product information prior to your selection. All tents and awnings are fully serviceable items and are made up of numerous replaceable components. As a result, we do not offer monetary refunds on tents and awnings. In the event of a product exhibiting any fault, we offer a full manufacturer’s workshop repair facility to rectify any reported faults. Should a product be irreparable, we will offer a replacement product. In certain circumstances, this may be from an alternative manufacturer.

It is imperative that you fully erect and check your tent or awning before using it for the first time. This is to ensure that all component parts are present and it gives you an opportunity for a practice run before your first trip. Camping by its very nature brings you closer to the great outdoors and you need to remember that tents and awnings are defined as temporary structures. Whilst all our tents and awnings are manufactured from high quality, waterproof materials, we cannot guarantee them to be fully, 100% waterproof. Windows, vents, doors and seams are points where water ingress may occur. It is highly unlikely that you will see any water ingress, however, we strongly recommend that when you purchase your tent you also purchase a tube of seam sealant and a tin of silicon spray to assist in keeping the elements at bay.

Ex-Display Tents and Awnings

PJ Camping Ltd expressly excludes any warranty in the relation to the goods (to the fullest extent permitted by law). The goods are being sold as seen and the purchaser assumes full responsibility for examining and selecting the goods to determine their condition and suitability of use.

Condensation
Under certain conditions, all tents and awnings will suffer from internal condensation. Condensation is caused when water vapour comes into contact with cold surfaces and condenses to form dampness or water droplets. There is always moisture in the air and during periods of rain this can naturally increase concentration levels of water in the air. Air can contain varying amounts of water vapour; warm air can hold more water vapour than cold air. Depending upon the atmospheric conditions, the weather and the amount of moisture in the ground, the condensation could be quite severe being mistaken as water ingress or leaking, especially as it can run down the inside of the roof or air tubes and can drip off ties, tapes and other internal fittings.

This situation can be made worse by people inside the tent or awning who are naturally breathing out moisture. When this warm air inside the tent or awning comes into contact with the material and internal poles, which are both cooled by the outside air temperature, that temperature change causes condensation to form on the material. Condensation on the inside of the roof of a tent or awning can be displaced by wind and rain hitting the fly-sheet causing a “fine mist” to appear in the air. Again, this a peculiar phenomenon of a condensation build-up. If you suspect your tent or awning is leaking it is almost certainly condensation.

The ground conditions can have an effect on condensation within an awning or tent that does not have a sewn in groundsheet. Under certain conditions, moisture from the ground will evaporate and add to the level of moisture in the air inside the awning or tent. This is particularly noticeable in an awning where a breathable groundsheet is used. There are numerous contributing factors which can cause condensation:

Main Sources of Condensation

  • Ground moisture rising inside your awning/tent.
  • Ambient atmospheric conditions including humidity, precipitation, temperature, dew points and wind.
  • Temperature differences between the inside and outside your tent or awning.
  • Your breath and perspiration. An average person will expel 1 litre of water in a 12 hour period.
  • Storage of damp or wet clothes.
  • Cooking by gas will produce ½ a litre of water for every ½ hour of cooking. For safety reasons we do not recommend you cook in your tent. Even eating hot food inside your tent/awning will produce steam.

Reducing Factors

  • Tent and awning ventilation is more important than is generally realised, particularly in synthetic materials. Under certain conditions, condensation within the tent or awning cannot be completely avoided.
  • Leaving the ventilation panels open as much as possible. Leave doors open where possible.
  • Whenever possible it is recommended that a draught skirt is drawn aside slightly (awnings only) so that extra air circulation can take place.
  • On some tents and awnings, optional roof linings are available that can also help prevent condensation and catch any drips of condensation that fall from the roof.

We recommend that polycotton tents are weathered before first use. Weathering is a cycle of soaking the tent and allowing it to fully dry out, this allows the fibres to swell and knit together, seams need to undergo this process even more than the main tent fabric. This cycle normally only needs to be done once but depending on the weather it may need to be repeated a few more times. If a polycotton tent is used for the first time in rain and the rain is medium to heavy or prolonged expect a polycotton tent to allow water through the fabric, a mist may form on the inside of the tent. Seams are more prone to water ingress and may need a spray of a tent waterproofing solution to make the seams more water resistant. Do not be concerned as this is typical. Ideally the weathering process should be done before the tent is used.

We strongly recommend that you purchase a tent/awning spares kit which will include additional pegs, guy lines, repair tape, replacement air tubes/poles, etc. This is a good, sensible practice so that in the event of any potential problems, the impact on your holiday will be minimized.

Discount codes

Discount codes can be used on all orders except for gas. This includes all LPG bottles from Calor. If for any reason your bottle purchase has been manually discounted then your order will be refunded and a notification email will be sent.
